technology startups incubator, managed by NTUA, National Technical University of Athens.

Lavrion town is 50 km from Athens, with a vibrant commercial, and passengers’ sea‐port to islands. With just 20 minutes driving distance in direct highway
from Athens International Airport; the teleport is in ideal location. In the vicinity of Sounion, ancient temple, one of the highlights of Athens’ sightseeing.
Astraios Teleport is sited inside LTCP, Lavrion Technology Cultural Park, of NTUA, National Technical University of Athens, a 24/7 security guarded area.
LTCP is an incubator of startups and innovative companies, including the upcoming National Greek Supercomputer Daedalus.

In Ancient times, Lavrion was a site of ancient mines of silver. Silver production had a vital role in the Classical era of Athens, enabling the ancient city to:
Issue an international silver Coin, and fund the shipbuilding of its fleet, obtaining Naval Superiority.
In 19th Century the mines were revived by the French Mining Company, as key player of the the Greek industrial revolution. With 50s‐60s‐70s three
decades of investments, till its final decline and shutting down in the 80’s. A remarkable story of social contribution, with jobs to the Lavrion town, along
with the social fights of the miners’ union.
Today, this site of heritage has been revived by the National Technical University of Athens, NTUA, with a pioneering restoration project. With extensive
buildings restoration of industrial complexes, and extended environmental restoration project. NTUA established the Lavrion Technology Cultural Park,
LTCP, and transformed it into an innovation technology & cultural hub.
